Malala is esentally a browser dedicated exclusively to self-directed and institutionally-led education. Malala now features Malala Ask, powered by Open AI and our own learning and language models. Malala Ask makes research easier. Simply queiry Malala Ask, request "provide sources" and Malala answers questions
Malala was developed by Galapagos EDU for two purposes. First to create a portal focusing on research materials and to provide a portal for high quality, low cost educational resources.
More and more, people need to reserach areas, in a professional role that they do not have an academic background in, speficially. Sometimes this is for a presentation for a client, sometimes it is to more horozontally into another role within the same organization. Without this academic training, it can be difficult to discern if a resource for information is accurate or has any regard in the field it claims to represent. Malala was created a currated educational ecosytem to provide access to esteemed resources at the lowest coast.
We also hear a great deal about economic inequality gap these days What is not discussed is the chasm created by educational inequality. Malala was created to bridge educaitonal inequlity, which often leads to long term economic inequality, by providing a portal for high-quality low-cost or open source educational materials and entire curriculums. In Malala 2.0, released at the beginning of the summer of 2023, we have started by providing access to open source textbooks. By the fall of 2024, we will add a more comprehensive portal for these materials. By fall of 2025, we aim to have the Malala portal support entire schools with gold standard curricula any school can afford, curricula created around the content of classes at Universities ranked in the top 100 global institutions in the annual Times Higher Education suplement.
