Galapagos is a new island for self-directed learners who feel like they are floating in a sea of pointless information. College has become too expensive for most people. For the practical student, campuses have become hostile who need education to advance themselves through applicable skills.
If a parent decides they don't like the local school system and chooses to educate a child through homeschooling or small group learning, how can a parent measure apptitude and improvement?
Galapagos was created to provide alternative, effective measurement tools in the form of self-testing and accredidation apps. Core Vocab will be our first app which will include vocabluary from the SAT and GRE tests. As our island of self-directed learning evolves, we will be adding other apps on the Apple App Store and on Google Play.
The tech field has long relied on tests administered by third parties to test the skills of potential hires. Creative fields such as art direction or sound and video production are similar. Galapagos evetually plans to create self-testing and accrediation apps for all fields. To start our evolution, we will be providing self-testing apps with eventual accrediation in major and emerging development languages. As we grow we will provide self-testing and accreditation apps for both soft skills and hard skills.
The vision for Galapagos as an education ecosystem centered around self-directed learners
Large, presigious employees like Apple are becomming skeptical of the worth of a college degree. Parents are increasingly worried schools simply aren't teaching their children basic skills.
